Local and Area Attractions

Amana Colonies. One of Eastern Iowa's cultural historical landmarks, the Amana Colonies tempts with an exclusive array of locally made edibles, woollens, and superlative woodcraft.

Devonian Fossil Gorge. A product of the floods of 1993 where the protecting layer of silt was washed away to reveal millenia old fossils. Easily accessible, visits to the site are free.

Iowa City Jazz Festival. Consider extending your stay to coincide with the Iowa City Jazz Festival, to be held from the 1-3 of July, 2005. Proudly free to the public, this exceptional event will be staged under the trees on the "Pentacrest" with side-shows spilling onto the streets of downtown Iowa City.
